May 2009: CMPT maintains
ISO 9001:2000 certification with pride
A quality management system (QMS) is only successful when it helps a program stay on top of its game and continually improve. You know when your system is “alive and real” when inspections come along and you know that you are ready.  Such was the case in May 2004 when CMPT participated in our second annual re-inspection. Again our system was assessed as working and intact, with no deficits or non-conformities. Our certification was re-affirmed.
About CMPT A few recommendations were made as possible (not required) opportunities for improvement (OFI). One was to keep calibrate the CO2 incubator regularly (once a year) as a problem preventative program. The second was to complete OFI documents and include the date the revision/change was implemented. The third was to revise water protocol so that revisions to the protocol is traceable to the sendouts.
top As with every small program, a weakness of our QMS is our ability to perform regular internal audits without having a person audit their own work. This will be something that we continue to work on and develop. Any suggestions by others would be appreciated.
